Another one opens.

To take time to
Sort through the

Within

What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters
compared to what lies within us.

Do You Believe There Is A God?

“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No,
I do not believe there is a God.
I know there is a God.”

~Ernest Boyer, Jr.

Face In The Sky

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.  For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
 2 Corinthians 4:18

But my eyes are fixed on you,
 O Sovereign LORD;
in you I take refuge       Psalm 141:8

But if from there you seek the LORD your God,
you will find him if you look for him with all your heart
 and with all your soul.
Deuteronomy 4:29

We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties. ~Oswald Chambers

When we put our cares in His hands,
He puts His peace in our hearts. ~Author Unknown

Let God's promises shine on your problems. ~Corrie Ten Boom

I would rather walk with God in the dark than go alone in the light.
                                                                ~Mary Gardiner Brainard

There come times when I have nothing more to tell God. If I were to continue to pray in words, I would have to repeat what I have already said. At such times it is wonderful to say to God, "May I be in Thy presence, Lord? I have nothing more to say to Thee, but I do love to be in Thy presence."
                                                                                ~O. Hallesby

All praise and honor to you my Lord, thank you she whispers as she drifts off to sleep.

Patience

Patience in suffering.  Patience in healing.  Patience in answered prayers.
Patience is not an ability to wait.  Patience is how you act while you wait.
Patience is an attitude.
Patience grows under trial.
Patience is enduring through trials.

Wait--Expect something to happen.
Be patient as you wait (not if you wait).  We WILL have to wait in life's journey.
Wait on God with a good attitude.

Oh how God is speaking to me today.  I struggle with patience in the unknown.  And He continues to test me over and over in an effort to perfect my weakness.  I surrender (once again) my disappointments, doubts, fears, and control to a loving God, who knows better than I what is best in every situation.  Not my will but yours.

Where would we be today if God had of answered Jesus' first request, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me;"

But Jesus didn't end his prayer on a selfish note.  He continues, "yet not my will, but yours be done."
With the same attitude I too pray, not my will, Lord but yours be done.

THE WEAVER

My life is but
        a weaving
Between my Lord
        and me,
I cannot choose
        the colors
He worketh steadily.

Ofttimes He
        weaveth sorrow,
And I,
        in foolish pride
Forget He sees
        the upper
And I, the underside.

Not till the loom
        is silent
And the shuttles
        cease to fly
Shall God unroll
        the canvas
And explain the
        reason why.

The dark threads
        are as needful
In the Weaver's
        skillful hand
As the threads of
        gold and silver
In the pattern
        He has planned.

~Author Unknown

Sometimes we just have to tie a knot and hang on.

Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead.  You're not in the driver's seat----I AM.  Don't run from suffering; embrace it.  Follow me and I'll show you how.  ~Luke 9:23 (the Message)

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us.  They Give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises.  ~Romans 15:4

What is Faith?  It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen.  It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.  ~Hebrews 11:1

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you.  ~James 4:8

Faith Giver,
So often I settle for the uncertainty of seeking what I want when I want it, and I'm left disappointed.  Show me what it means to place all my confidence in you.  Fill me with the assurance that my greatest hopes and dreams are fulfilled in you, even when I can't see it for myself.
Amen

The Will of God

Always With You

Only in the silence can you hear
the heartbeat of God
and His still, small voice. It is moments like this I simply pause and listen to God.
